John Ballay
Managing Partner
John is an experienced operator, investor, and fundraiser, with a strong focus on capital formation into operating businesses. John was the co-founder and former CEO of Knot Standard technology & apparel business, based in New York and part of the founding Team at BLKBRD Asset Management, an SEC registered RIA and Hedge Fund based in Greenwich, CT.
John spent time in the Middle East, working for two of the UAE-based Sovereign Investment Groups (Dubai World and Abu Dhabi Investment Company) focusing on direct investment across various asset classes, as well as advisory work with two regional Family Offices. John began his career with Capmark Finance in New York City.
John serves on the Executive Advisory board and as contract CFO for Autotec Solutions – a second generation family packaging and robotics company.
John is a graduate of the University of Texas and has an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. John lives in Madrid with three kids. John competes in marathons, Ironman triathlons, and loves everything outdoors.
Cliff Moskowitz
Operating Partner
Cliff is an experienced private equity investor and operator and one of the founders of Targa Partners Multifamily Office. Over the last five years, Cliff held 6+ interim CEO roles and private equity backed companies with revenues ranging from $50MM-$750MM.
Cliff was the Founder and President of InterLuxe Holdings, a private equity platform to invest in and operate retail companies.
Cliff served as a consultant for SK Holdings, the second largest company in South Korea. Cliff is a member of the Board of Directors of Full Beauty Brands, Staud, Solid & Striped, Apotheke, and Goodlife Clothing, as well as SPAC Fast Acquisition II. Cliff has previously been a Board member of Garretson Resolution Group, Archway Marketing Services, and Versapharm and a Board Observer of SDI Health, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet and Targus.
Cliff worked for several middle-market private equity firms, including Saunders Karp & Megrue, Tailwind Capital and Harvest Partners, and as a Consultant at Bain & Company.
Cliff graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University, where he played Division I soccer, and received an M.B.A. from The Wharton School. Cliff lives in Greenwich CT with his two kids, and enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking with his dog and mountain biking.
